CLARK FORK — Clark Fork boys basketball couldn’t have scripted a better start to Monday’s game against the Post Falls C team.

The Wampus Cats jumped out to a 16-2 first quarter lead which helped propel them to a 67-47 victory over the Trojans.

“We were more disciplined and more confident in our play tonight,” head coach Heath Beason said. “We wanted to slow things down to make sure that we ran our offense and defense with precision, not be in a rush.”

Early on senior Josh Constantin and junior Cameron Garcia made their presence known as they each scored 12 first half points to lead Clark Fork.

The Wampus Cats built an advantage as large as 20 points in the second quarter and took a 32-15 lead into the locker room.

Clark Fork continued to pour it on offensively in the third quarter scoring 21 points. The Trojans kept up with the Wampus Cuts but were never able to cut into the deficit as Clark Fork’s lead swelled to 25 points in the fourth quarter.

The victory gives the Wampus Cats a season sweep of Post Falls.

Garcia tallied 26 points and Constantin added 17 points and 10 rebounds.

The Wampus Cats (3-9, 0-2 NSL) host Wallace 7 p.m. tonight.
