Tom Moore

| July 7, 2020 1:00 AM

July 3, 2020, was a sad day for the Moore family and friends of Tom Moore, who passed away after a lengthy illness.

Tom was born in Fargo, North Dakota, on Feb. 24, 1948. By 1949, our family was moving to Los Angeles, where we took up residence in the Ratteree Track, West Los Angeles.

Tom attended grammar school in Brentwood and junior high at Paul Revere, High school was in the Pacific Palisades.

His next stop was the University of Arizona in Tucson for undergraduate work, then it was back to California for law school in San Diego at the University of California San Diego.

After passing the California bar exam, he began practicing law in West Los Angeles. By now he was married to Mary Sutton and purchased a home in his old neighborhood, now renamed Brentwood Glen.

Unfortunately, that marriage didn’t last, but at the same time he was working his way up the ladder at Sunkist Growers in the law division. It was there he met and married Magdalena and they soon had a son they named Thomas.

Tom retired from Sunkist as the vice president and leader of the legal division.

Tom is survived by his wife, Magda; son Thomas; brother Ed and wife, Mary; and nephews Blake and Bryan and nieces Maile and Cassie.

The family plans to have a memorial in the near future when COVID-19 settles down and friends and relatives can travel without fear of infection.
