BCSO hosting boating courses

| July 9, 2020 1:00 AM

SANDPOINT — The Bonner County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting several Boat Idaho classes in the coming months.

The course will take place on July 11 and 25, Aug. 8 and 22 and Sept. 12 and 26 for the boating public wanting to learn basic boating laws and safety.

Classes last approximately six hours and cover topics such as boating laws, rules of the road, safe boating practices, safety equipment requirements, navigation, and boating etiquette. The classes, all of which begin at 9 a.m., will take place at the Bonner County Sheriff’s Marine Division building, 4001 N. Boyer Road.

BCSO officials said educational opportunities to promote safe boating practices are very important.

“However, the public’s safety is our top priority so class sizes will be limited and dates evaluated as they draw closer,” BCSO officials said in a press release. “Registered participants will be notified if the class is canceled or rescheduled.”
