Joan Marie Bowman, 80, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2020 in Sandpoint, Idaho.
Private family services have been held.
Joan was born on August 30, 1939, in Sandpoint, Idaho, to Maurice and Louise Dreisbach. She grew up in Sitka, Alaska, but spent many memorable summers on Lake Pend Oreille with relatives.
Family was most important to her and she was devoted to her three children. She was an avid volunteer and favorite room mother known for her bright smile and delicious treats. She had a selfless soul and always put others first.
Joan was a member of the First Lutheran Church, where she enjoyed the women’s bible study group, quilting for Lutheran World Relief and assembling new baby packages.
Joan loved this area, especially Trestle Creek. In 1995, she made Sandpoint her permanent home to be near family.
She is survived by her daughters Jody Soper of Sandpoint, and Linn Hall (Charlie Dehnel) of Wausau, Wis-consin, and son Gary (Amy) Bowman of Lodi, Wis-consin. She was blessed with nine grandchildren, Jaime (Alex) Sanborn, Zach Soper, Adam (Katie) Hall, Nick (Kristin) Hall, Tyler, Joshua, Hunter, Mya, and Kaleb Bowman; and four great-grandchildren, Tanner, Carter, Hazel, and Nora Hall.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Bill Dreisbach, son-in-law Jerry Hall and her fur babies, Macie, Foxy, Bruno and Bo.
