A healthier life fueled by nutrition, fitness

| June 24, 2020 1:00 AM

Your road to a healthier lifestyle does not have to be paved with boring meals and endless cardio routines.

You must be tired of lacing up your sneakers, wiggling into your exercise clothes, climbing on the stair master to nowhere, sweating like an NFL linebacker and still not seeing the results that you were hoping for. Frustrating isn’t it?

Find comfort in knowing that there are simple steps that you can take every day that will lead you toward your goals, without pulling your hair out in the process or leaving your blood, sweat and tears on a piece of exercise equipment.

I have preached it in several articles previously written that nutrition plays a large role in your health and wellness. I’m sure my clients get tired of my verbal vomit of nutritional facts and information regarding what to eat, how to eat, healthy recipes, etc. … but I am a firm believer that education is key!

You will never be healthy and fit if you ignore your nutrition. You are not a dog, so don’t reward yourself with food. Think of your food as fuel for your body and feed the machine what is required to perform at peak levels.

Create an effective nutrition plan that is easy to fit into your lifestyle. If you have seen a product that has a commercial on TV, the likelihood of it being nutritionally beneficial for you to eat, is pretty low.

Most marketing campaigns do not warn you of the artificial flavorings, artificial colorings, sugar, fillers, chemicals and GMO. It is your responsibility to read the labels on everything that is purchased and consumed by you.

Simplify your exercise routine so that you are acquiring the results you desire in the least amount of time.

Take the opportunity to spend quality time with your children and involve them. Over the years, I went on hundreds of runs with my son by my side, on his bicycle of course. Time flies by much too quickly to spend hours in a gym when you don’t have to.

If you need guidance in reaching your health and wellness goals, I am more than happy to help.
