Tryouts for Sandpoint Little League are this Saturday

| March 6, 2020 12:00 AM

Unlike the average winter for north Idaho, this year it actually does feel like it’s time to start preparing for the upcoming baseball and softball seasons. That’s exactly what several volunteers for Sandpoint Little League have been doing all winter and this Saturday, the league will be hosting tryouts at the Sandpoint High School gymnasium.

Tryouts are mandatory for baseball players who are eligible for AAA, Majors and Juniors level of play as well as softball players who will compete at the Majors & Juniors level. If a player is not able to make tryouts they must notify the league prior to March 7 at info@sandpointlittleleague.com.

Bring your glove and tennis shoes (non-marking). No cleats required and all bats and helmets will be provided. Softball tryouts begin at 10 a.m., Juniors tryouts begin at noon with AAA and Majors following at 1:30 p.m. Tryouts will end at 4 p.m.

Please arrive before the stated start times to help expedite the process. All players should be registered online prior to tryouts at sandpointlittleleague.com, but onsite staff will be ready to assist with this process if needed.

All younger players interested in playing in Sandpoint Little League this spring should be going to the website now to get registered. All information regarding the different levels, fees, volunteer opportunities and training tips are available on the league website.
