World Cup — The men raced the downhill at Kvitfjell, Norway this week, placing four athletes in the points. Travis Ganong led the team with a fifth place finish, followed by Bryce Bennett and Ryan Cochran Siegle tying for 17th and Jared Goldberg in 20th. The World Cup Finals in Cortina, Italy, have been canceled due to the coronavirus.

Nordic Nationals — Annaby Kanning opened with a strong showing in the 5K Classic, finishing 31st of the 93 U20 female racers. Racing in her first year as a U18, she was fourth amongst all PNSA racers. She continues tomorrow in the 1.2K sprint in an effort to qualify for further heats. Watch for a full report next week.

Starlight Race Series Correction — The Edge got lost sorting through the series results last week and misreported the winning team. The Teachers on the Edge of Prohibition waxed (as I was told by one team member) the field, claiming first place. Team members were Anton Pogue, Adam Tajan, Melinda Rossman, Teresa Kemink and Ezra Stafford. Congrats and our apologies for the error.

Youth Ski League Finals — Lookout Pass hosted the league finals last weekend. Snow this past Saturday created challenging conditions for racers and course crew alike. A number of local racers from SARS and Independence competed.

Results (top 15 only) follow: Solen Landwehr had a big weekend winning both slalom and GS for U8 boys. Brig Ambuen placed fifth in slalom for the age group. U10 Boys — Wyatt Lemon placed second in giant slalom, Rhys Taylor was fifth in slalom and ninth in GS and Logan Johnston was 10th and 16th respectively.

U12 Boys — Jeru Gidley took two silver medals, followed closely by Dakota Landwehr who was fourth both days. James Schriber was 15th in slalom and 11th in GS. Royce Sharpe took 13th in GS and Alex Hopkins was 14th.

U8 Girls — Libby Walker was fifth in slalom and second in GS. Tekla Lien took fourth in slalom and Jordyn Lemon captured third in the GS. Stella Albright was fourth in GS and Elisa Gidley was 10th in GS.

U10 Girls — Elaina Stiller placed first in both events and Zayda Ambuen finished sixth and seventh respectively. U12 Girls — Halle Wyman secured 15th in GS and other competitors were Rory Johnston, Faith Stephany and Sophia Taylor. The Schweitzer Alpine Racing School won the boys, girls and overall season titles.
