Not even COVID-19 was able to stop the annual Mother’s Day petunia baskets at Lake Pend Oreille High School’s greenhouse. “We got everything planted just as the schools closed” said LPOHS teacher Randy Wilhelm. “Usually, I have lots of students helping me but this year I’ve been a one-man show. The kids really made it look easy.” Flower baskets are $25 each. There are also some annual flowers and Mother’s Day gifts — even some of Leata Judd’s fairy house pottery.
