Spokane resident arrested following high-speed pursuit

POST FALLS — A Spokane rsident has been arrested on a multitude of charges following a high-speed chase on I-90 Sunday morning.

Idaho State Police advised they responded to a report by Washington State Patrol at 8:14 a.m. of a vehicle traveling at approximately 120 miles per hour, weaving in and out of traffic and passing on the shoulder of the interstate highway. ISP troopers located the vehicle, which had just crossed the state line into Idaho, near milepost 7 in Post Falls and a pursuit ensued eastbound on I-90. However, troopers discontinued their pursuit at milepost 14 in Coeur d Alene due to public safety.

The vehicle, a grey 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, was located a short time later by troopers near Wolf Lodge. A pursuit ensued again and continued on Yellowstone Trail to Coeur d’Alene Lake Drive where a PIT maneuver was performed.

The suspect, Brandelyn L. Betts, 34, of Spokane, Washington, was arrested on charges of driving under the influence and felony eluding. Other charges are pending, ISP said in a press release.
