Nov. 3, 1970 – OUTHOUSE THEFTS
Two outhouses were stolen Sunday in the Wrenco Bay area. The thefts were reported by Charles Wendel and Raymond Croce, both of whom listed the value of the structures at approximately $100 each.

SPECIALIST FIVE KRAUSE EARNS MEDAL
Spec. 5 Elmer J. Krause, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Krause, received the Army Commendation Medal while serving with the 13th Finance Section near An Khe, Vietnam. Spec. 5 Krause entered the Army in 1968 and completed basic training at Ft. Lewis, Wash.

COLOR TV SAFE AT SIX FEET
To eliminate the hazard of exposure to x-rays, color television viewers should sit at least six feet from the set, suggests the Idaho Medical Assn. It is especially important to prevent small children from sitting or standing too close to the set. Black and white sets pose no danger of radiation.

JACK YOUNG JOINS S&T STAFF
Spokane native Jack Young has become associated with S&T, Inc. Professional Realtors. A member of the Society of Real Estate Appraisers and the American Right of Way Assn., Young was an appraiser in California for 18 years. The Youngs and a son who is a SHS junior, reside at 421 S. First, having purchased the home from Mrs. Harlow McConnaughey.

Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Rowe, who were so unfortunate as to be burned out some time ago, will open up in the same location (100 block of N. First avenue) Monday. They deserve patronage.

HARDING - COOLIDGE SWEEP COUNTRY
Harding and Coolidge, republican candidates on the national ticket, have been elected and will have votes to spare. Early eastern returns were strongly in their favor and their strength held as the scope of the territory covered widened. Gov. Cox conceded the election and telegraphed his congratulations. From the returns now in, Idaho will go for the republican national ticket strongly.

LOCAL BRIEFS
The White restaurant is being remodeled to put the building’s south side a few inches to the north as it was encroaching on the adjoining lot.
The big billboard belonging to M.A. Bliss, at Pine street and Boyer, was torn down and broken to pieces Saturday night as a Hallowe’en prank.
C.C. Peterson Saturday brought to town three tons of oats in one load, raised on his own land.
Peter Johnson, Otto Greenhood and Russel Pheneas, of Sandpoint, went to the reunion of the Scottish Rite Masons at Coeur d’Alene.
The Elks’ charity ball last week showed a net profit of $364.15, which the lodge will use for its Thanksgiving and Christmas charities.
