County rolls out plans for limited staffing

SANDPOINT — Bonner County released on Thursday its plans for reduced staffing to help curb the spread of novel coronavirus.

"It is of the utmost importance to the commissioners to make every effort to keep Bonner County staff as safe as possible," county spokeswoman Jessi Webster said.

Each department can be found on the county's website (bonnercountyid.gov) and some business can be conducted online.

Below are the plans of operation for each department.

Airports — Operations will remain normal

Assessor’s Office — The office is closed to public, although people can call 208-265-1440 to make an appointment. Forms are available on a table outside the office.

Assistance — Call 208-255-5291 for an appointment.

County Clerk/Auditing — Operations will remain normal, although there will be limited staff in the office.

Commissioner’s Office — The office closed to the public. Call 208-265-1438.

Courts — A drop box is available and the courthouse remains open to limited number of patrons. There will be no jury trials, although other operations will remain normal.

Department of Motor Vehicles — Operations will remain normal, although there will be a limited number of customers allowed inside the office.

Elections — The office will remain open to public and operate normally, although with a limited staff.

EMS — Operations will remain normal.

Engineering — The office will be closed to public, although other operations will remain normal.

Extension Office — The office will remain open to public, although the county is encouraging business to be conducted via phone, email or appointment.

Fairgrounds — Call 208-263-8414 for an appointment.

GIS — The office closed to the public, although online services can be utilized.

Human Resources/Risk Management — Operations will remain normal.

Justice Services — Operations will remain normal, although staffing is reduced.

Planning — The office will remain open to public with limited staff. The county is encouraging people to conduct business online.

Prosecutor’s Office — The office is closed to public, although operations will remain normal.

Public Defender’s Office — The office closed to public, although operations will remain normal.

Public Works — There will be reduced staffing, although the office closed to public. Facilities staff are available by calling 208-946-8442.

Recording — Open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from noon to 4 p.m., for appointment 208-265-1490. Recording services available online, but no passport services at this time.

Recreation — The main office limited to one person, although site operations as normal. Staff is available by calling 208-255-5681.

Road & Bridge — The main office is limited to one person and district operations will remain normal. Staff is available by calling 208-255-5681.

Sheriff — Operations will remain normal.

Solid Waste — The main office limited to one person, although site operations will remain normal. Staff is available by calling 208-255-5681.

Technology — Internal operations will remain normal.

Treasurer’s Office — The office will remain open to public and operations will remain normal. Payments can also be made online or by mail.

Veteran’s Services — The office is closed to the public. Call 208-255-5291 for appointment.

Weeds — The main office is limited to one person, although operations will continue. Staff is available by calling 208-255-5681.
