Sandpoint Elks men's league golf holds championship playoff

SANDPOINT – In the Elks Thursday Men's League championship playoff on Sept. 17, the Les Schwab Tires team consisting of Jim Johnson, Del Goff, Denny Creighton and Steve Oliver defeated the Q School Flunkies team of Jim Carothers, Chad Bailey, Mike Coulter and Willie Calios by a match play score of 19 to 17.
The remaining eight teams played a scramble. The Pickleback team, consisting of Terrance Jorissen, Mike Armstrong, Scott McDonald and Dan Lorden, won the scramble.
Closest to the pin on hole No. 1 was Daryl Ramey, and on No. 9 was Todd Riley. Longest putt on No. 3 was Mike Thompson, and on No. 5 was Dan Lorden.
For the season, the lowest overall gross scores were shot by Russ Brisboy and John Watson with 34s, and the lowest net score went to Chad Bailey with a 25.
