| October 10, 2020 1:00 AM

SANDPOINT — A boil water advisory for a portion of city residents is no longer in effect as of Friday, Oct. 9.

Water system maintenance occurred on Oct. 6, requiring the city of Sandpoint to temporarily shut off water to a portion of customers. A precautionary boil advisory was put into place until testing of the water could occur to ensure its safety.

This testing has been completed and all necessary steps have been taken. Water samples tested negative for contaminants by a certified laboratory. The precautionary boil water advisory is no longer in effect. Customers may return to normal use of your water service. It is no longer necessary to boil drinking water.

The city apologizes for any inconvenience this precautionary measure may have caused to customers.
