Schools counselors, teachers helping students to 'Apply Idaho'

SANDPOINT — School counselors and English teachers at Sandpoint High School started work yesterday that will continue through the end of this week to help students apply for colleges and universities.

The school-facilitated application process is part of the Apply Idaho program. Students can apply to universities and colleges in Idaho, or schools outside the state as long as they pay any necessary application fee, according to a press release from Sandpoint High School.

In addition to helping students complete their Apply Idaho forms, counselors will be helping students get Federal Student Aid identification, apply for scholarships and provide any other necessary resources including workforce questions and applications.

“[Apply Idaho] really is about celebrating the seniors and their plans after high school,” wrote Jeralyn Mire, a post-secondary transition counselor at Sandpoint High School.
