Walk for HOPE set for Sunday

| September 3, 2020 1:00 AM

SANDPOINT — Pick a time on Sunday and Walk for HOPE.

Hold On Pain Ends, a non-profit that works to bring speakers to connect and guide youth and raise awareness about suicide, has switched to a virtual format on Sunday, Sept. 6.

Those interested can walk the decorated Long Bridge — or choose their own path — any time on the day of the event. Participants are encouraged to post their pictures to social media using #walkforhope2020 for a chance to win a prize.

Shirt pickup location will be Kokanee Coffee in Sandpoint on Fifth Avenue. Registration is free but shirts are limited. Times are Thursday, 5-7 p.m.; Friday, 7-9 a.m., and 11 a.m.-1 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m.-noon and 5-7 p.m.; and on Sunday, 8-10 a.m.

"We are determined to bring a culture of others mindedness into our schools and community," the group notes on its website. "It is time to build up, not to tear down."
