POST FALLS — The Bulldogs' winning streak came to a halt Tuesday night.

After back-to-back victories over Lewiston and Moscow, Sandpoint volleyball couldn't quite pull one out against Post Falls falling in three sets, 25-22, 26-24, 25-20.

The Bulldogs also lost to the Trojans in three sets at home on Sept. 3.

Head coach Karen Alsager said her team played better this time around and had a chance to knock off the Trojans.

"What's difficult is you're just so close," she said. "You're just a couple points away from tipping the scales and we just couldn't do that. It's odd because I did feel like we played well, we just didn't play good enough to beat this team."

Alsager said the Bulldogs' passing was great, but they hit the ball out of bounds too many times.

Senior Gabby Hicks continued her impressive season hitting 14 kills with just two errors. She also had seven digs and two aces.

Alsager was proud of Hicks' effort in Tuesday's match.

"Gabby was all guns blazing tonight," she said. "She gives every ounce of everything that she has for the team."

Kinzie Ward had 11 digs, CeCe Deprez tallied 10 assists and Lauren Breuner added eight assists.

Sandpoint (2-7) hosts Lake City 7 p.m. Thursday at Les Rogers Court.
