COEUR d'ALENE — For the second time in three days, Sandpoint tennis had to win the final match on the court to force a tie with their opponent.

That weight fell on the shoulders of Maise Brazill at the No. 2 singles spot for the girls with the team trailing 6-5. She prevailed 6-4, 6-4 to allow the Bulldogs to tie Coeur d'Alene 6-6 on Friday.

"She was just in a war with her opponent," head coach Kent Anderson said about Brazill's match. "She was just out there forever and she knew she had to win, and she pulled it out."

Sandpoint tied with the Vikings for the second time this spring despite dropping three third-set tiebreakers. Neva Reseska, Tyler McNamee and doubles pairing Olivia Petruso and Denali Terry all fell just short in the third set.

At No. 3 girls singles, Adrian Doty claimed a first set tiebreaker against her Coeur d'Alene opponent and cruised 6-1 in the second set.

"Adrian had a really nice win," Anderson said.

Aden Heitz and Kailee McNamee teamed up in mixed doubles for the second time this season and secured a 6-3, 6-4 win. Anderson said he really likes the potential of that pairing.

"They're going to keep playing together," he said. "We'll get them more time together in practice and they are going to be tough. I think they are going to do really well at districts."

The Bulldogs swept boys doubles once again. Josh Embree and Christian Story won 6-4, 6-0, and Tyler Korn and Carter Johnson only lost one game in their match. Both pairings are still undefeated.

Brahma Heitz grabbed another victory at No. 3 boys singles.

"That's a good spot for him," Anderson said.

Sandpoint returns home to face Post Falls at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Travers Park.
