BCSO announces boater safety classes

The Bonner County Sheriff's Office is hosting several free Boat Idaho safe boating classes in the coming months.

Classes cover topics such as boating laws, rules of the road, safe boating practices, safety equipment requirements, navigation, and boating etiquette.

All classes begin at 9 a.m. and will last about six hours; participants are reminded to bring a lunch.

The following is a list of scheduled classes being offered:

• May 8 — Priest River Senior Center, 336 E. Jackson Avenue, Priest River

• May 15 — Bonner County Sheriffs Marine Division, 4001 N. Boyer Road, Sandpoint

• May 22 — Filling Station Youth Center, 102 Main Street, Clark Fork

• June 12 — Bonner County Sheriffs Marine Division, 4001 N. Boyer Road, Sandpoint

• June 26 — Priest Lake Search and Rescue, 81 Cavanaugh Bay Road, Coolin

• July 10 — Bonner County Sheriffs Marine Division, 4001 N. Boyer Road, Sandpoint

• August 7 — Bonner County Sheriffs Marine Division, 4001 N. Boyer Road, Sandpoint

NOTE: Educational opportunities to promote safe boating practices are very important.

Class sizes will be limited. Registered participants will be notified if the class is cancelled or rescheduled.
