Does the truth matter any more in Boise?

I recently read an Associated Press article concerning ethics claims against Representative Priscilla Giddings (Legislative District 7). I have also read both the official allegations and her responses to them.

This alleged misconduct is actually that, alleged. Ms. Giddings is a strong, accomplished, Air Force Academy graduate, fighter pilot, wife, mother and Christian. Something about these allegations just don't meet the "smell test."

Something is very wrong here. Do we no longer look for the truth? Do we automatically believe charges brought by powerful men who fear strong women? Why would a woman who has accomplished so much, competing in a world of men, throw it all away so easily, so flippantly, so wittingly? I believe she is innocent of these allegations. Please see through this calamity of justice meant to silence the voice of an impressive, strong and courageous woman and military veteran.

Let your voices be heard. Call Representative Sage Dixon, chairman of the Ethics Committee, and let him know you support Priscilla Giddings.

Note: Priscilla Giddings is running against the very powerful Speaker of the House, Scott Bedke for lieutenant governor this November.
