Kaniksu Health Services is now Kaniksu Community Health

| August 3, 2021 1:00 AM

SANDPOINT — After nearly 20 years of providing quality, affordable and accessible health care to the North Idaho community, Kaniksu Health Services has changed its name to Kaniksu Community Health.

“We felt it was the right time to move away from Kaniksu Health Services to Kaniksu Community Health because the people who make up the North Idaho community are at the center of everything we do,” said Kevin Knepper, CEO of Kaniksu Community Health.

Over the last 19 years, Kaniksu has grown to match the needs of the North Idaho community. What started as a dream that everyone in North Idaho, regardless of their circumstance, should have access to quality healthcare, has turned into a reality.

Now, with five locations spanning across Bonner and Boundary counties, and health services that range from pediatrics, family medicine, VA, dentistry, and behavioral health to opiate-addiction and substance abuse therapy and a new integrated clinic opening in 2022, Kaniksu thought it was time for the name and look of the organization to match its growth and mission.

Olivia Luther, Kaniksu Community Health Director of Marketing and Community Relations, said, the new identity represents the core of the Kaniksu mission, to ensure healthcare is accessible to everyone in the community. “As Kaniksu Community Health we remain committed to providing clinical care that is integrative, grounded in relationships, and aligned with personal health goals.”

Kaniksu Community Health delivers whole patient care, regardless of age, economic situation, or health concern. Over the course of a patient's life, and the spectrum of their care, Kaniksu’s team based approach to patient care means we will help patients achieve or maintain good health.

“While our community may miss Kaniksu’s signature pinecone, our new logo demonstrates our medical home model. Our teams work together to provide comprehensive, quality care for the whole patient and family under the same roof,” stated Dr. Charlotte Weeda, Kaniksu Community Health CMO. “We are excited that our new name better represents our commitment to serving our community, with our patients being the center of Kaniksu Community Health.

As part of the new campaign, Kaniksu Community Health will launch a series of video, print, social media and community-based activities over the next several months. The campaign will include a new logo and tagline - Whole health for your whole life - to showcase Kaniksu’s Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) model of care. A PCMH approach to care means Kaniksu puts the patient at the center of their care so that they can work alongside their healthcare team to create a personalized plan to reach their health goals and live a healthy and whole life.

There will be no changes to patient care or services as a result of the rebrand and the rollout of the new logo and name will take a few months to complete.
