The never-ending goodness of our Father

The older I get the more I am amazed at God’s never-ending goodness. His goodness is so outrageous that words cannot express. The best lyrics and the greatest melodies fall short of describing or expressing gratitude. The Book of James 1:17 says: “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.”

Every good and perfect gift is from above, think about it. The best things in life come from God. He gives us life, truth, joy, people, relationships, family, love, strength, wisdom etc … Before we were born He already had us in mind and designed us perfectly for life.

From the first day of my life He has been there with me. When I was bad He was good. When I didn’t see Him He was good. When I was angry with Him He was good. When life was hard He was good. Good, good, good that is who He is.

Sometimes it’s difficult to see Him because of all the evil and confusion going on around us. This is the moment we need Him the most. God remains, and will always be, good. He cannot change. People change, life changes, circumstances change but God’s ability to show us goodness in and through every thing good and bad in this life is truly the greatest evidence of His never-ending goodness. For example those moments when I look at myself and think I can’t go on anymore and there is no way out. At that moment God is ready to embrace me with His goodness and love me with a love so powerful nothing in this life could stop, it’s a love so deep that no sorrow can resist. And now hope pours in and I can see a way out.

God cares about us and wants to show us His never-ending goodness today.

I pray that today, if you haven’t yet, you encounter and receive God’s goodness in your life. It changes everything.

May the Light of God shine upon you and bless you today.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
