Chris Bancroft
Chris Bancroft, a native of Spokane, Washington, died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2021.
Chris met his wife while a senior at Central Valley High School, and after graduation, they married in Seattle, Washington, in April 1968. He and his wife Jennifer, have now lived in Sandpoint, Idaho, since August 2016.
Chris retired in August 2016, after working in the agricultural industry, lastly as a purchasing manager for RDO Water Inc., in Escondido, Calif.
Chris and Jennifer and their two little girls, Adina and Kirsten, had moved to San Diego County, Calif., in July 1971, as it was where the work and Jennifer’s sister, Charene Booth, was. They both got employment, and started a life in Sunny Southern California. Both of their jobs led to further moves within Southern California with the girls. They all lived in San Luis Obispo Co and Ventura Co. Then they returned to the San Diego County area that they both loved, for the next 25 years.
Chris and Jennifer, besides their work, raised Arabian show horses, and Chris had his roping quarter horses, Ed and then Buck, that he rode at rodeos and did ranch work with.
Ask his kids and family and they’ll tell you, that Chris had a “punny” sense of humor, and was always a prankster with all. He also was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution. His work, family, and life of horses, fishing and barbecuing is what he enjoyed the most in this life.
Chris is survived by his wife, Jennifer; his daughters, Adina Maddox, and Kirsten Ransom; his grandsons, Jacob Spjut, Mason Spjut, Justin Escalante, Alexander Owen, and Christopher Ransom; and great-grandchildren, Saige Spjut, and Lex Escalante, with another on the way. Other survivors include his three sisters, Bonnie Hardenbrook, Cathy Robinson and Laurie Hopkins; and his brother, Bill Bancroft.
