Wray and Linda Farmin

Services for Wray D. “Bing” Farmin Jr. and Linda L. Farmin will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at the Lakeview Cemetery in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Linda was born in Melrose Park, Pennsylvia, in 1933. In 1966, after her first husband’s death, Linda moved to Spokane and married “Bing” Farmin and they had a son, Dee Adams Farmin. 

Linda loved playing golf and she made many lifelong friends while enjoying the game. Linda passed away peacefully on February 21, 2020, in Spokane, Washington. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marie Louise Sharpless (Neusell) and George Mott Adams, and her stepfather, Lincoln F. Sharpless.

Linda was survived by her husband of 53 years, Wray D. Farmin Jr., her three children, Thure M. Ahlquist III, Anita L. Indelicato (Jay) and Dee Adams Farmin; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Bing was born on May 30, 1927, in Spokane to Wray D. Farmin Sr. and Zena Miles Farmin (Rothrock). He graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in Spokane.

After attending Gonzaga University and Washington State University, where he was active in ROTC, he entered military service in the US Air Force, retiring as a lieutenant colonel. His service took him to Germany and back to Fairchild Air Force Base and the Pacific Northwest. Two of his final assignments were commander of both the 242nd Mobile Communications Squadron and the 105th Tactical Control Squadron of the Air National Guard.

Along with Bing's military service, he was active in his family's insurance business becoming president and partner of Farmin, Rothrock & Parrott. After retiring, he served on the board of directors for Panhandle State Bank for many years.

Bing and his wife Linda were snowbirds for several decades and spent winters in Litchfield Park, Arizona, and summers in Spokane.

Bing passed away peacefully in his sleep and went to be with the Lord on November 15, 2020 at the age of 93. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Linda Louise (Adams) Farmin; his mother and father, and his sister, Molly Miles Farmin. He is survived by his children from his first marriage to Evelyn Paulsen; son Wray D. Farmin III and daughter Evelyn McEwen (Jon); and sons Thure M. Ahlquist III and Dee Farmin and daughter Anita Indelicato (Jay) from his marriage to Linda; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
