Smoke and cancellations can’t stop Sandpoint Summer Music Series
SANDPOINT — The Summer Music Series at Farmin Park continues to bring music and fun despite the smoke and band canceling.
The headliner Super Sparkle canceled due to COVID exposure, said Robb Talbott of Maddox Farm Productions.
However, music still filled Farmin Park as two bands crossed over to fill in for Super Sparkle. The performance was a mix of Matt Mitchell Music Company, Trego, and Lucas Brown and Friends on the stage together. The musicians that came to perform overlap in the three named groups.
“This is a group that doesn’t usually get to play together,” said Talbott.
Matt Mitchell is a solo singer/songwriter who also performs in the band Trego. Lucas Brown, of Lucas Brookbank Brown and Friends, played guitar.
Even through the smoke, the talent of the musicians came through. Families and friends trickled in to the event, grabbed some refreshments from the booth and food trucks and stayed for the welcoming atmosphere.
Stillhouse Junkies, two-time Telluride Bluegrass band contest finalists, is still on for Aug. 26.
The Summer Music Series is free thanks to sponsors. Bring a lawn chair, blanket and the family.
