Henry Lyle Harp, 97, passed away on Monday, August 16, 2021 at Kootenai Health in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, August 20, 2021, at Cabinet Mountain Calvary Chapel in Clark Fork, Idaho, with Pastor Scott Douglas officiating. Henry will be laid to rest with his wife Eleanore in the Hannibal, Wisconsin, cemetery.

Henry was born on September 14, 1923, in Hannibal to Leo and Olive Harp. After high school he served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. Henry married Eleanore Olsen on June 5, 1948. He worked for Taylor Co. as a heavy equipment operator and owned a small dairy farm.

In 1965 they moved to the Clark Fork area, where he worked as a faller in the logging industry, until he retired in 1985. Henry enjoyed gardening, and watching the hummingbirds and squirrels. He especially enjoyed his dog “Bella.” He also enjoyed reading western books.

He is survived by six children, Art Komanec of Clark Fork, Gabe Komanec of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, Shirley Gross of Thompson Falls, Montana, Jim (Betty) Harp of Hannibal, William Harp, Sr of Clark Fork, and Carole (Terry) Chowning of Clark Fork; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Eleanore in 1998; son Paul Komanec Jr.; sister Mabel Fischer; and brother Levi Harp.
