| August 27, 2021 1:00 AM

David Roland Wall, 80, passed away peacefully at his home in Sandpoint, Idaho, on Thursday, August 19, 2021.

Dave was born on December 30, 1940, in Spokane, Washington, to R.A. “Jim” and Ada Wall. He graduated from North Central High School in Spokane in 1958 and went on to earn his bachelor's degree in marketing from the University of Washington where he was a proud member of the crew team. Following college, Dave joined the United States Navy as a lieutenant on the destroyer ship U.S.S. Braine, and honorably served his country during the Vietnam War.

In 1973, Dave purchased the Cady & Pier Ford dealership which he renamed Evergreen Ford and relocated to Sandpoint, Idaho. Dave married Laurie Muench on May 1, 1982, in Spokane with whom he shared a long and loving marriage.

Dave was a proud member of Cedar Hills Church, Sandpoint Rotary, Sandpoint Unlimited who named him “Citizen of the Year,” and many other local organizations in his community. Dave held a private pilot's license and chaired the Sandpoint Airport Commission, where the runway was named in his honor. He reveled in the natural beauty of North Idaho, enjoying boating, snowmobiling, fishing, golfing and skiing with his family at Schweitzer Mountain. In more recent years, he spent winters in Mesa, Arizona, nestled in the Sonoran Desert.

Dave is survived by his wife, Laurie Wall; three children, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was especially delighted in being called GG Poppy by his great-grandchildren and was never happier than when surrounded by his beloved family.

Memorial donations may be made to the Sandpoint Senior Center or the Panhandle Alliance for Education.

Lakeview Funeral Home in Sandpoint is handling the arrangements. Please visit Dave’s online memorial at www.lakeviewfuneral.com and sign his guest book.
