Lazy A .08K being held today

| August 28, 2021 1:00 AM

All of the fun of a run, but almost none of the work. Add in a great cause and you end up with the Angels Over Sandpoint's second annual Lazy A .08K run.

Registration for the run begins at noon today, Aug. 28, at MickDuff's Beer Hall. The kids race begins at 1 p.m. and the adults race follows.

"You know the drill," Angels members posted on a Facebook page promoting the event. "Race starts MickDuff's Beer Hall. Runners will hydrate before the start of the race with only the highest quality beer. Make sure you get there on time so you have time to hydrate appropriately."

The group is quick to note that the race is kid (and non-drinking adult) friendly since root beer can swapped out for the adult beverage.

"The runners will face numerous obstacles they will have to overcome throughout the course. But don't worry you'll be able to reload on your carbs half way through," the post reads. "And, for those thinking … 'Wow, can I even run .08K?' don't you worry. The course isn't really that long."

The starting line and the finish line are the same spot with the racers traversing the distance from one side of the parking lot and back where racers can celebrate their victory and take photos.

General entry is $25, which includes a pre-race beer and a swag bag.

VIP entry is $50, which includes a pre- and post-race beer, special VIP treatment, transportation across the course (who wants to actually run that far) and a VIP swag bag.

In addition, there will be live music, food on site and additional games.
