Make America great by picking up litter
I have a slight obsession that whenever I see litter along a road or trail that I am walking on I pick it up.
The city I live in has plenty of litter to keep me busy but never expected to see so much of it in beautiful Sandpoint, Sagle, and surrounding areas. While visiting my parents who have lived in the area for 40 years, I have collected and thrown away over 150 pounds of trash along the Long Bridge pathway and Lakeshore Drive.
I’m not trying to be political but also have noticed quite a few Trump MAGA posters that are still up. If you really want to “Make America Great Again,” start with your own community by doing something to make it better instead of relying on empty slogans from politicians.
When you see a lot of trash along the side of a road, a selfish, lazy, and thoughtless act, it implies that is little pride in the community. If you want to make America great again, pick up after yourself, volunteer to help others in your community, wear a mask in indoor public spaces, and get vaccinated.
