JUDGE BROTHERS POTATO FARMS FLOURISH

The Judge families on Dufort Rd. are in the business of raising and selling spuds. Glen and Leona Judge and Jim and Priscila Judge, who live on neighboring farms, combine efforts in producing and marketing the eighteen acres of potatoes on each farm. Leona’s brother, John Fox, also a neighbor, gets into the act as well. The brothers each have a unique design on their potato sacks. Jim’s say “Hoo Doo” inside an outline of the State of Idaho, while Glen’s bags have a picture of Ponderay Pete on skis, and the word “Schweitzer.”

Dec. 7, 1921 – NEW HIGH SCHOOL ASSURED

Sandpoint will have a new high school building this summer. Bonds to the amount of $140,000 were sold to the Bonner County National bank and the Spokane Eastern Trust co., who paid par and $100 premium besides paying for the printing of the bonds. The board has waited over a year for the bond market to improve so the bonds could be sold above par. Whitehouse & Price of Spokane are the architects. At the board’s next meeting the question of site will probably be taken up and settled. The present crowded condition of the rooms calls loudly for relief and it will no doubt be given before next year’s school term opens.

TILLIE DREISBACH SIGNS CONTRACT

Mrs. Tillie Dreisbach, wife of E.W. Dreisbach, has returned from Spokane, where she has accepted a year’s engagement with the American Film Co. to star in comedies that will be put out by the company. She will work at the Minnehaha studio, and in the film productions will have the stage name of Martha Burke, her maiden name. Mrs. Dreisbach has been bookkeeper for her husband at the Star Market. Her husband is a member of the city council and both Mr. and Mrs. Dreisbach stand well socially. Mr. Dreisbach is in full accord with his wife’s ambitions and the people of Sandpoint feel honored in furnishing a star for the galaxy of filmdom. We may expect to see Martha Burke on the screen here in the near future.
