Christopher (Chris) Barker, a loving husband and father, of Sandpoint lost his battle with Crohn’s disease and MS on January 27, 2021, at the age of 43.

Chris was survived by his wife, Sara Barker; his children, Jacob Barker and Lillian Barker; his in-laws, Mark and Marion Johnson, and Jay and Jennifer Patzer; and nephews Mikel, Joseph, and Mathew Brown. He is preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth Teats and Kenneth Barker.

Chris was born in Crescent City, California, on July 22, 1977. He spent his childhood in both Lewiston, Idaho, and California. It was in Lewiston that he met his wife 1999. He was so excited when his son was born on January 2, 2000. On June 16, 2000, Chis and Sara married and soon after moved to Sandpoint where Sara was born and raised. On July 11, 2006, he was thrilled to welcome his daughter into the world. To Chris there was nothing more important than his family.

Chris was a devoted husband and father and he loved nothing more than spending time with them. When his son was younger, he enjoyed coached him in Little League and flag football. He was always a proud dad in the theater watching his daughter dance for every performance. He enjoyed family camping trips especially roasting marshmallows. Chris was an avid gamer and really enjoyed playing them, whether it was on his phone or playing Minecraft with his children. He was always up for a card game, especially cribbage. He had a passion for cooking that he shared with his family, friends, and several restaurants in the Sandpoint area. He cooked professionally until his health no longer allowed him to do so. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

The family will be holding a private service but welcome you to view and sign the guestbook at www.coffeltfuneral.com.
