PRIEST RIVER — Priest River girls basketball concluded its regular season on Thursday night with a 57-4 loss to Timberlake, the defending 3A state champions.

The loss dropped the Spartans to 0-6 in Intermountain League play this year.

Priest River played without seniors Makia Fitzmorris and Hannah Palfrey for the second straight game and the team missed their presence on the court, head coach Gary Stewart said.

"We played hard on the defensive end in the first quarter, but we had no flow whatsoever on offense," he said. "We couldn't run a single set against them. It was a very frustrating experience for everyone."

The Tigers held Priest River scoreless in the second and fourth quarters.

Brooke Jessen led Timberlake with 12 points. Samantha Pound and Allyson Barton each scored two for the Spartans.

Priest River (4-15) will see the Tigers again at 6 p.m. Monday. The Spartans, the fourth seed, head to No. 1 Timberlake for the first round of the 3A District 1 tournament.
