Louie Joseph Baribeau
On January 31, 2021, we said a loving farewell to Louie Joseph Baribeau, a husband, father, brother, friend and mentor.
He was born in Idaho Falls to Francis and Louis Baribault on Feb. 10, 1948. His loving sister Michelle, only a year older, was already ensconced in the Baribault home. Louie grew up in Eureka, California. He became a male model at the tender age of 5 along with his sister Michelle and mother, Francis. After tiring of the modeling career at the age of 7 or 8 he went on to teach himself taxidermy through a mail order course. He made his living with this for some time but felt the need to push further ahead. He became a builder, a woodworker, an entrepreneur, an inventor, a metal fabricator and a photographer. His interests were multiple and varied as he consistently and successfully reinvented himself many times over.
He married Roxanne Putnam on June 28, 1977 and went on to raise 5 children, Jody, Andilyn, Candilyn, Lou Jr., and Nichole. Roxanne passed on April 17, 2001. He met Marlene Petersen in the fall of 2007 and they married on October 12, 2013. They shared many adventures after finding one another later in life. They loved and accepted each other’s small quirks with Louie often giving Marlene “the look” when she innocently tried to “micro-manage” him. They laughed about this often. He was a faithful, loving, passionate, and compassionate husband and father. Until we meet again.
Private graveside services were held Friday Feb. 5, 2021. A “celebration of life” will be held later this spring for friends and loved ones.
Family and friends are invited to sign Louie’s online guest book at www.coffeltfuneral.com.
Arrangements are under the care of Coffelt Funeral Service.
