Cooler temps may ease road limits
SANDPOINT — While weight limits are in effect on many county roads, next week is expected to bring colder temperatures, Bonner County Road & Bridge officials said. That could mean limits may be lifted from some roads.
In District 1 — the area south of the Long Bridge — Gypsy Bay and Wooded Acres roads have been posted with green flags, which means weight limits may be imminent.
In addition, weight limits are posted on following roads: Eureka Road, Martin Bay Road, Glengary Bay Road, E. Comeback Bay Road, Comeback Bay Road, Jones Road, Hanford Drive, Birch Banks, Ferry Road, Jewel Lake Road, Hillside Drive, Twin Rivers Road, Old House Road, Overlake View Road and Talache Road from E. Dufort going southeast.
In District 2 — the area encompassing the Priest River and Priest Lake area — the following roads have been posted with weight limits: E. Settlement Road, Anselmo Lane, Campbell Point Road, Riley Creek Park Drive, Holly Glenn Road, N. Riley Creek Drive, Wrenco Loop, Wrenco Hills, Carr Creek Road, Smith Creek, Eastside Road, Thama Drive and all roads south of the Pend Oreille River — with the exception of Dufort Road.
Eastriver Road is being closed due to lengthy road repairs. Please detour through Eastriver Loop. Weight limits are effect on both roads as of 4 p.m. today, Thursday. The Eastriver Loop bridge has weight restrictions of 3.2 tons per axle and a height limit of 12-feet, 1-inch.
In District 3 — the Sandpoint and Clark Fork areas — the following roads have been posted with weight limits Sunnyside Road, Sunnyside Cutoff, Olympic Drive, Fairway View Drive, N. Boyer Road and W. Selle Road.
Per BCRC Ordinance #422, it shall be the responsibility of the hauler to contact the Road & Bridge Department to determine whether or not these restrictions are in place. These restrictions will remain in effect until changed, at which time updates will be posted.
