Cold temps help lift road restrictions
SANDPOINT — With bitterly cold temperatures on the horizon, weight limits are being lifted from some county roads — at least for now, Bonner County Road & Bridge officials said.
In District 1 — the area south of the Long Bridge — all roads have been lifted from weight limits for the time being..
In District 2 — the area encompassing the Priest River and Priest Lake area — the following roads still have weight limits: E. Settlement Road, Anselmo Ln, Campbell Point Road, Riley Creek Park Drive, Holly Glenn Road, N. Riley Creek Drive, Wrenco Loop, Wrenco Hills, Carr Creek Road, Smith Creek, Eastside Road, Thama Drive, all roads (except for Dufort Road) south of the Pend Oreille River, Peterson Road, Peninsula Road, Eastriver Road from IDL 10 south and Eastriver Loop.
However, with the cooler temperatures forecast, some or all of the limits may be lifted Tuesday afternoon.
Eastriver Road is closed due to lengthy road repairs. Please detour through Eastriver Loop. Weight limits are effect on both roads. The Eastriver Loop bridge has weight restrictions of 3.2 tons per axle and a height limit of 12-feet, 1-inch.
In District 3 — the Sandpoint and Clark Fork areas — weight limits will be lifted Tuesday afternoon from Sunnyside Road, Sunnyside Cutoff, Olympic Drive, Fairway View Drive, N. Boyer Road and W. Selle Road.
Per BCRC Ordinance #422, it shall be the responsibility of the hauler to contact the Road & Bridge Department to determine whether or not these restrictions are in place. These restrictions will remain in effect until changed, at which time updates will be posted.
