Catherine E. Buck, 97, passed away in Spokane Valley, Washington, on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2021.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, February 27, at 2:30 p.m. Services will be in Coffelt’s Chapel with Pastor Mark Walker from Spokane Valley officiating. Burial will be in Pinecrest Memorial Park.

Catherine Yusten was born on May 11, 1923, in Willis, Nebraska, the daughter of Charles and Helen Yusten. She grew up, and attended schools, in South Sioux City, Nebraska. She married Ivan Buck on Oct. 30, 1938, in South Sioux City. The family moved to the Sandpoint area in 1940. She enjoyed gardening and sharing with her family. She loved her family, especially sharing the desserts of the holidays. She had attended the Assembly of God Church.

She is survived by her children, Ted Buck of Sandpoint, Marilyn Burnett of the Spokane Valley, Diana (and Allan) Thelen in Otis Orchards, Michael Buck and Jacqueline Kendall-Cypert, both in the Spokane Valley. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Rosa Buck; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Jo Ann.
