Sandpoint Future 6th graders claim Battle Basketball Invite title
The Sandpoint Future sixth grade boys basketball team recently went undefeated and won the Battle Basketball Invite held in Lewiston. The weekend was highlighted by wins over the St. Maries Lumberjacks, Spokane Knights and the Fusion Flash. The team capped the invite with a 45-38 victory over a solid Moscow Magic squad in the championship game. The weekend was highlighted by wins over the St. Maries Lumberjacks, Spokane Knights and the Fusion Flash. The team capped the invite with a 45-38 victory over a solid Moscow Magic squad in the championship game. "The boys came out with intensity and hustle from the opening tip-off and maintained it throughout the tournament," head coach Chase Williams said. Members of the team were: Landon Brinkmeier, Jordan Zmuda, Kohta Fisher, Logan Iverson, Knox Williams, Brock Yarbrough, Andrew Aexel and Gabe Zmuda.
