Arlene Jeanette Erickson, 93

Arlene Jeanette Erickson, 93, passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2021, in Sandpoint, Idaho. Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Arlene was born on May 1, 1927, in Wagner, South Dakota, to Leslie and Hazel Anderson. She grew up and attended schools in Clark Fork, Idaho, graduating high school in 1943. Arlene married Wallace Erickson on April 12, 1944, in Clark Fork.

The Ericksons operated Wally’s Texaco Service Station and Coffee Shop for 30 years. After the station sold, they went to work for the Bonner County School District for 20 years.

Arlene was active in the Clark Fork United Methodist Church, was one of the original members of the Bonner County Planning and Zoning Committee, served on the Election Board and was active with the school booster clubs. She enjoyed traveling in their motorhome along with fishing and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her two children, Curtis (Terri) Erickson of Greenacres, Washington, and Gail (Herb) Douglas of Portland, Oregon; five grandchildren, Patrick, Marin, Kirsten, Scott, and Katie; and one great-grandson, Greyson.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Wally, in 2006.

Memorial donations may be made to the Clark Fork United Methodist Church, Clark Fork Senior Center, or the Clark Fork Ambulance.
