Bennett captures second, four Spartans place third at Lakeland JV Tournament

RATHDRUM — The Priest River wrestling team had a strong showing at the Lakeland JV Tournament this past Saturday.

The Spartans took fifth out of the 10 schools that competed with 118 points. Post Falls won the tourney with 295.5 points.

Bradley Bennett led the way by placing second at 182 pounds. He won his first two matches by pin to advance to the title match.

Collin Magers (120), Keith Poirier (126), Devin Nessel (138) and Matyus McLain (170) all secured third-place finishes.

Caeden McLaimtaig took fourth at 120 pounds, Aidan Troumbley earned fifth at 126, Charles Bennett captured sixth at 182, and Keegan Poirier and Landon Reynolds placed seventh at 152 and 195 pounds respectively.

Shayd Wong-Yuen (10th at 138), Dylan Lord (10th at 126) and Hayden Sorbel (11th at 113) also competed for the Spartans.

Priest River returns to action at 5 p.m. Tuesday for a dual with St. Maries.
