January 25 marked the beginning of Bill Ouimet’s 44th year as year-round superintendent caretaker of Camp Stidwell.

Owned by the Sandpoint Kiwanis Club, Camp Stidwell is located at the south end of Mirror Lake. It consists of 160 acres and embodies three rustic camp sites. It is available by reservation, with emphasis upon youth and then other camping groups.

A financial gift, made possible by individual club members, was presented to Bill Ouimet by president Dan Hanson. Dan emphasized the club’s appreciation for Ouimet's 43 years of service to the youth and community of Bonner County.

"They say records are made to be broken," Dan Hanson, Kiwanis president, said. "Bill’s record will never be broken and he’s still going strong. Thank you, Bill, for all you do”.

In addition, a new chainsaw for Camp Stidwell was presented when it was learned that Ouimet's saw was in the hospital for some serious repair.
