WEATHER DELAYS SWIMMING CLASSES

Swimming lessons at Sandpoint City beach will not get underway until after the Fourth of July weekend, as the weather has been too cool to encourage much swimming. As the water is still cold, no one under first grade will be accepted for the first round of lessons. Water safety instructors Bud Smick and Carla Moore are co-managers of the beach staff. Assisting are Carla Elliot, water safety instructor, and Jayne Davis, senior life saver.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Shepherd and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Lutzke, all of Sandpoint. The couple are both 1971 SHS graduates. POOL HALL BURGLARIZED

The Jones & Cash pool hall in the Walker building on First ave. was entered last night, with $50 taken. Entrance was gained by carving a hole in the rear door through which the burglar stretched an arm and threw the bolt. The burglary was accomplished between 1 o’clock and 5:30 a.m. Sheriff Kirkpatrick secured finger-print records from the door, from which it is expected the thief can be identified.

CITY BREVITIES

The season this year is fully three weeks in advance of this time last year. Local gardens are already producing new potatoes, and cherries are ripening. Grass was never better in this section. A fine rain came yesterday to boost things along.

Lawrence King, small son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas King, ran into an auto on the corner of First and Pine while riding his wheel yesterday. The car was stopped and the boy ran squarely into it, was thrown from his wheel and bumped his head on the pavement but without serious injury.
