Velma and Gary Wescott

| July 24, 2021 1:00 AM

A belated celebration of life for Velma and Gary Wescott will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 31, 2021, at their family home in Sagle, Idaho, with Pastor Andy Kennaly officiating.

Gary was born in Caldwell, Idaho, on January 19, 1935, the son of Raynor and Addie Wescott and graduated from Twin Falls High School in 1953. Velma was born in Sandpoint, Idaho, on April 5, 1935, the daughter of Clifford “Tip” and Irma Warren and graduated from Sandpoint High School in 1953.

They were married on September 15, 1956, in Sandpoint and after they both graduated from the University of Idaho in 1957, they set off on an adventurous life in the Air Force. After Gary retired from the Air Force the family moved back to the Sandpoint area and Velma resumed her teaching career full time.

After retiring from teaching, Velma and Gary took many trips spending their summers golfing and boating and their winters skiing. They were member of the Schweitzer Prime Timers where they met many close friends. Their home and garden were always a source of pride of which they shared openly with all and where we will gather to cherish and celebrate their memories.

They are survived by sons Steven Wescott of Seattle, Washington, and Jeffrey (Tina) Wescott of Hastings, Michigan; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lakeview Funeral Home in Sandpoint is handling the arrangements. Please visit Gary and Velma’s online memorial at www.lakeviewfuneral.com.
