Kick off summer with FSPW party

SANDPOINT — Summer is finally here! After a long winter, it's only right to welcome it in style.

Idaho wilderness fans will have a chance to do just that with the Friends of Scotchman Peaks Wilderness summer kick-off event. It’s going to be a great season hiking and improving those trails, and there’s no better way to get excited for it. 

Scheduled for Saturday, June 5, from 5-8 p.m. in the Utara brewery lot, the party packs in all the entertainment you’d expect for a wilderness celebration. Come learn about summer hikes and trail projects and pick up free hiking maps, including the new FSPW trails map. Look forward to some great beer courtesy of Utara, plus games for all ages and goodie bags for our summer volunteers. There’s even a crosscut saw demonstration — all the better to brush up on those trail work skills. 

SPW has scheduled dozens of hikes and trail work dates. No experience? No problem!
