Christopher Lynn Thurlow, 59

| June 5, 2021 1:00 AM

Christopher Lynn Thurlow, 59, passed away peacefully in his home with friends and family present, on Sunday, May 23, 2021, in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Chris was born on June 2, 1961 in Sandpoint, to Jerry and Phyllis (Bricker) Thurlow. He spent his childhood on the best parts of Lake Pend Oreille and in the woods, learning how to fish, hunt, pick huckleberries, forage for morels and cut firewood.

This early introduction to nature was a lasting love as he spent much of his free time outdoors, always accompanied by his best fuzzy dog friends, Gus, Chuck, Otis and Ernie and usually some good fishing, and hunting buddies.

Anyone who knows Chris, knows that he was independent, outspoken, sometimes grumpy, but kind. He was always at-the-ready to lend a hand. He maintained close childhood friendships and made lots of new ones throughout his lifetime. He primarily worked in the timber industry as a pole inspector and at the pole yards.

Chris is survived by his mother, Phyllis Thurlow of Sandpoint; sister, Cynthia Thurlow of Vashon, Washington; brother, Doug Thurlow of Valencia, California; two nephews, Jared and Jake Thurlow; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Thurlow.

Lakeview Funeral Home in Sandpoint is handling the arrangements. Please visit Chris’ online memorial at www.lakeviewfuneral.com and sign his guest book. Services will be held at a later date.
