When will enough by enough for local GOP?

Someone that is and has been a community leader for many years has finally voiced “enough is enough.” We applaud you for this statement and op-ed on Jim Woodward’s value to our region.

Most of us agree with you, however, if this is truly how real GOP members feel, where are the other stand-up GOP members in our community now? Where are our present leaders in the community now? Why are they not speaking out? Maybe afraid they will be voted out for speaking out publicly? We vote for our mayors, commissioners, sheriff, representatives, and others to work for us to prevent fascism. Crickets, we hear.

Who, are these people you ask?

They are the same ones the local GOP has watched creep into this community for years without you or anyone else speaking up. By not taking a stand then and now you are enabling them. The past five years our local GOP has embraced this nonsense that has been materializing without coming forward to voice concern over the extremism that has infiltrated our county.

The nonsense starts upon entry to the city limits, the message is being broadcast throughout the country with pictures and real estate officials sending the message to entice additional extremists to come here.

This has not always been like this but if a stand is not taken soon by all of us, it will be next to impossible to bring this great and beautiful community back to hometown status.
