Washington man dies in accident

A Washington state man died as a result of injuries received in an early-morning accident on Monday.

Idaho State Police said Michael A. Riggs, 34, of Zillah, Washington, was northbound on Riley Creek Road when he lost control while negotiating a right sweeping curve at about 5:03 a.m. Monday. Riggs' vehicle turned broadside on the road before entering the ditch on the west side of the road, and overturning into the water, ISP said in a press release. 

The single-vehicle accident was reported in the 2100 block of N. Riley Creek Road, about two miles north of U.S. 2.

An investigation is ongoing.
