On Feb. 1, the Sandpoint Senior Center once again opened its door to congregate meals.

Seniors are invited back to a sit down lunch with their friends. Space is limited to 40 diners so please call no later than 9:30 the morning of to reserve your spot. Masks are mandatory for visitors in the senior center unless you are seated at your table. If you’re not comfortable dining indoors yet, you can still call for a grab-n-go meal.

Friday breakfasts are also back but reservations need to be made the day before as service starts at 8:30 a.m.

Bridge is back. If you’re interested in joining us for bridge, please contact either Marshall Roberts or Loris Michael at 208-263--6860. Space is limited to 16 players and you must have had both of the COVID vaccines to participate. Masks are required unless you are seated at your table. Pinochle is also welcomed back, we’re just looking for someone to organize the players. If you’re interested in taking the lead on this activity, please contact Cherie at 208-263-6860.

The pool table is once again open. We will be limiting the participants to four for now; masks must be worn at all times, and players must have received their first vaccine. Bingo will be returning on the first Wednesday in May with similar restrictions. And finally, the Injector’s Car Club will be returning for their annual Father’s Day barbecue at the senior center on Saturday, June 19. There will be food, music, and games including a nine-hole mini golf course. So grab your friends, family, and appetite and join us.

I also wanted to remind everyone that the DayBreak Center is open once again and taking in new clients. If you’re the caretaker of a loved one suffering from Alzheimer’s or dementia, than please take advantage of these services. The dedicated staff at the DayBreak Center will provide your loved one with the highest quality care while you take some much needed time for yourself. Please call 208-265-8127 to schedule a visit.
