Michael Jacob Klemz, 18, passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2021, in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Memorial services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Saturday, November 13, 2021, at the Sandpoint Church of the Nazarene. Pastor Chad Wilks will be officiating.

Michael was born on March 22, 2003 in Wenatchee, Washington, the son of Joseph and Allison Klemz. Michael lived most of his life in Clark County, Washington, and was a homeschool graduate in 2021.

Michael was currently enrolled in the EMT program through North Idaho College. He completed the Firefighter 1 Academy through NIC in May 2021 and passed the IFSAC summer of 2021. He was a volunteer firefighter with Northside Fire and Rescue. He was very passionate about a career in firefighting and worked at Super 1 Foods in the produce department.

Michael loved to go hiking, backpacking, and mountain climbing. He completed Philmont through Boy Scouts, where he climbed Mount Philips. He also climbed Mount St. Helens and Mount Adams. He grew up participating in 4-H showing his chickens, rabbits, goats, and raising market turkeys.

He is survived by his parents, Joseph and Allison; grandparents, Karen Smith of Winlock, Washington, and Michael and Lisa Moore; his sisters, Madeline Klemz of Vancouver, Washington, Marah Klemz of Sandpoint, and Naomi Klemz of Sandpoint.

The family suggests that memorial may be made to Northside Fire and Rescue 437 Cedar St, Ponderay, Idaho 83852.
