Darla Joan Dwinell

| November 6, 2021 1:00 AM

Darla Joan Dwinell was born Oct. 30, 1960, and was received home to the Lord on Oct. 14, 2021. Born in Chester, Calif., Darla grew up and spent most of her life in rural cities of Northern California.

She and her husband moved from Susanville, Calif., to Sandpoint, Idaho, nine years ago and she immersed herself into the community she immediately fell in love with. She was presently working at Sandpoint High School assisting disabled students, but also served as an advocate for countless women and children in her previous career, counseling and advocating for victims of domestic violence. Darla has also always held a leadership roll in the church. She was a sister to her friends and a hero to her family.

Darla is preceded in death by her mother, Carol Vanderley. She leaves behind her father, Thomas Vanderley; husband, William Dwinell; children, Dena Adams, Scott McMillian, Noelle Ennis, Charles Scarborough, Micheal and Joshua Dwinell, and Kristen Guerra; and a sister, Pamela Stenninger, and brothers, Michael and Thomas Vanderley. She has 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, as well as many other family members who love and miss her dearly.

Darla will be missed for her magical laugh and her gentle, Christlike spirit.

Funeral services were held on Friday, Oct. 29, at New Life Church, 1925 N. Boyer Road, Sandpoint, at 10 a.m. Interment followed at Pinecrest Memorial Park.

Family and friends are invited to sign Darla’s online guestbook at coffeltfuneral.com.

Funeral services have been entrusted to Coffelt Funeral Service.
