Joy Lee Tharp, 61

Joy Lee Tharp, 61, of Priest River, Idaho, tragically passed away in a home fire in early October 2021.

Joy was born in Lincoln, Nebraska, on August 5, 1960. She was raised in Bloomington, Minnesota, and graduated from Academy of Holy Angels in Richfield, Minnesota in 1978.

Joy began her 40-year culinary career with Saga and Best Food Services in Minneapolis. She also provided corporate food services for Republic Airlines, Super Value Grocery Store, General Mills and had the honor to serve the governor and other officials at the Minnesota State Capital in Saint Paul.

In 2001, Joy moved to Priest River along with her beloved wife, Michelle Pecukonis, where they founded Skeyes the Limit Catering.

Joy is preceded in death by her father, Dr. Ralph P. Tharp, II. Her wife Michelle also passed away in the fire in early October.

Joy is survived by her mother, Phyllis Tharp; sister Gay Tharp; brother Ralph P. Tharp, III; sister Elizabeth Oldroyd Brown, brother-in-law William Brown and nephews Luke and John Oldroyd.

A private family memorial will be held.
