| November 9, 2021 1:00 AM

Joan Fallon Lawrence peacefully went home to be with Jesus on Oct. 21, 2021, in San Jose, California

Joan/Nana/Jajja will be greatly missed by her sister, Patricia Benfield (Ken); daughters Jody Thompson (John), Lane Hayes (Tim), Aimee Argabrite (Phil), and Beth Carlotta (Louis); sons Chip Lawrence, and Marc Lawrence (Sandy); special family members Kenny Mukisa, Judy Cravens, Barry, Cari, and Joel Johnson; and 15 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, a niece and a nephew.

Joan was born March 5, 1934, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Clarence and Gladys Humphries. She married Larry D. Lawrence on October 27, 1951. They moved several times while in the military, eventually settling in Sunnyvale, California, in 1964.

Joan enjoyed many years of employment in the semi-conductor industry and was a long time booster member for the Santa Clara Vanguard. Joan and Larry semi-retired to Sandpoint, Idaho, in 1981, where they owned and operated “The Stamp Pad.” Joan later became a missionary in Africa for 10 years. Upon returning from Africa, Joan became the secretary/treasurer for New Song Bible Church in Sagle where she continued her love for missionary work through both financial and prayer support. Joan’s illness made it necessary for her to retire and move to San Jose to live with one of her daughters.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Gladys Humphries; her husband, Larry D. Lawrence; and a newborn son, Steven Lawrence.

A family gathering will be held December 5, 2021, in San Jose, California. In June of 2022, there will be a celebration of Joan's life in Sagle, Idaho.
